Cornerhouse 115 Book Art Workshops.

We recently held some workshops for 15 ladies from 2 of our local Women's Institute groups. Each lady was provided with a Book Folding Pattern and a preloved hardback book, pencil and ruler.

We held 3 sessions and each session was 2 hours long.

The first session we demonstrated how to create different Book Folds and how to mark and fold each ladies pattern.

The room fell silent whilst all the ladies practiced and began making their own Book Art.

The second workshop we made different types of paper flowers including kusudama flowers and rolled roses. Each lady also chose how they would like to decorate their completed Book Art and what colours they would like it, and set about making the embellishments.

The last session was to decorate the ladies pieces. All the ladies told us how much they enjoyed it and many ordered new Book Folding patterns to continue their new found hobby. Me and Mum loved every week and had lots of laughs along the way.

I think you'll all agree they did a beautiful job, they will be entering their creations into the WI Gala later this year, hopefully our group will have a winner or 2 in it, good luck ladies xx
